Stonemason

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Vacancy Introduction

We’re proud of our team at H.L Perfitt who use their 450 years of combined experience in stonemasonry to create bespoke monumental, burial and cremation memorials, as well as beautiful kitchen worktops and limestone bathrooms.

We’re looking for someone to join our memorials team. As someone with experience of working with stone, you’ll use your skills – supported by different manual and equipment-driven processes, to produce beautiful memorial masonry.  You will also support the fitting and removal of memorials, so it’s wise to expect some heavy manual handling exposure in the role.

As a Stonemason, you’ll take great pride in the pieces you create and the knowledge that these will be displayed as fitting tributes for years to come

Role Responsibility

  • Prepare and produce memorial masonry products in line with client’s brief / wishes
  • Use different types of equipment (e.g. sandblaster) and manual methods (e.g. painting, hand-carving and etching) to transfer bespoke and standard designs on to various types of stone
  • Produce draft drawings with precise measurements, where required
  • Support with fitting or removal of memorials at location, where required
  • Ensure safe working practices at all times

The Ideal Candidate

  • Knowledge / experience of stonemasonry (such as carving and artwork) and memorial installation
  • A hands-on and practical approach to work
  • Effective interpersonal skills, able to communicate with internal stakeholders and clients / customers
  • Team-player who is also able to work independently on their own initiative
  • Attention to detail
  • Commitment to working safely
  • Full UK driving license

If you have installation experience with a BRAMM or NAMM Fixers License and / or experience with equipment (such as sandblasters and polishing machines) that would be great, but not essential.
