Project Manager (IT)

Are you an experienced project manager who has led business change projects focussed on introducing new business systems and exploiting technology?

Are you ready to join a small business analysis, systems analysis, project management and technical test team responsible for delivering IT change?

Do you have APM/PMP certifications or Prince2 Practitioner with at least 5 years project management experience within an IT focused business change role?  (comparable qualifications will be considered)

Role Responsibility

As a Project Manager, your first significant opportunity will be leading the Finance System Replacement Project.  Your skills and experience will be invaluable in structuring the project and managing budgets, project schedule, quality and resources. You will ensure risks and issues are addressed and through the management of communications, ensure situational awareness is maintained.  Working with a matrixed project team you will guide the business towards exploitation of the new system to achieve real and tangible benefits.

Like many organisations there is always lots going on so the ability to manage multiple projects or workstreams is essential.  System lifecycle and emerging technologies mean that a diverse mix of technology projects, touching all business divisions and functional areas, are in flight at any given time.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead IT change projects developing relationships, and managing communication, with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Develop, own and maintain the project plans ensuring schedule, scope and quality are controlled
  • Manage budgets and resources.
  • Produce and maintain project documents including Proposals, Feasibility Studies, Stage Plans and Closure Reports
  • Documenting and tracking identified project risks, ensuring that all project risks have a considered response and an owner, who is responsible for the risk response and mitigation actions
  • Managing changes in project scope, including leading and documenting the impact assessment of any such change
  • Deliver successful projects within budget, on time, to acceptable levels of quality
  • Ensuring the project, and the wider organisation, maintain a focus on exploiting delivered technology to realise quantifiable benefits

This role is based at our central office on the outskirts of Ipswich, Suffolk. We operate a hybrid working model so whilst attendance at the central office (and other business locations) will be required on occasions we are happy to support remote / home-working arrangements where appropriate.

Salary will be dependent on experience.
