Pricing Manager

Vacancy Introduction

This is an exciting time for Our Co-op. Following a full strategic review, a new Senior Leadership team has been appointed and we’re planning to invest significantly in our future growth.

Role Responsibility

As the Pricing Manager you will be responsible for determining how pricing decisions affect customer behaviour, identifying the opportunities that will help our co-op grow in a sustainable way.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Support the development of our retail pricing strategy and represent pricing in our Strategy Governance Group.
  • Work closely with our commercial teams to ensure that we deliver a strong offer for our customers and members in a way that also delivers sustainable profits for the Society.
  • Become the expert in the Society’s pricing software and ensure that we use it to the best of its capability.
  • Keep an eye on competitor pricing activity and share market trends with internal stakeholders.
  • Coach your two direct reports so that they’re fulfilling their potential.
  • Ad-hoc analysis or duties as requested by line manager.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Commercially aware with the ability to continually challenge the business and the way that it operates.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships at all levels is essential.
  • We’re looking for someone who will inspire their direct reports and encourage the ideas of team members so that innovation thrives.
  • You’ll be open-minded with a flexible approach to how things can be achieved and able to use a variety of IT systems and tools to get the job done in the best way possible.
  • With a questioning mindset and commitment to continuous improvement, you’ll be keen to develop the quality of your team’s output.
  • You’ll be able to work quickly across a wide range of tasks, sometimes under pressure.
  • Attention to detail will be second nature, with the need for accuracy clearly understood.
  • Able to communicate key financial information both in writing and verbally to non-finance personnel at senior manager and executive level, you’ll also understand of the need to balance commerciality with our Co-operative values and principles.
