Marketing Analyst

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Vacancy Introduction

As a Marketing Analyst, you will be responsible for collating and interpreting key business activity data to generate insights to help the Marketing and Retail / Commercial Teams to react to key issues impacting business performance.

We’re going through an exciting period of change, including the implementation of a new CRM (Customer Relationship Management) System.  This role is also an exciting, new addition to the team, meaning you’ll have a real opportunity to shape the future use of data and analytics whilst we support you with your learning and development through a Level 4 Data Analyst Apprenticeship.

Role Responsibility

As someone who likes to really get ‘stuck in’ to the detail of an issue, you’ll have the opportunity to investigate what really works for our business and influence future decisions.

We operate a diverse range of businesses (from Foodstores to Funerals) so you’ll work with lots of stakeholders at all levels. Each will have their own priorities but you’ll work with a clear focus and encourage a ‘data-led’ approach to decision-making.

Through accessing our Data Warehouse and the new CRM System (as well as external data sources), along with the knowledge of subject matter experts (both in Marketing and the IT / Business Development teams), you’ll collate relevant information and undertake complex data analysis.

For example, why was a marketing campaign successful in one area but less successful in another? Or why it was that our members really engaged with a certain promotion?

Your insights will enable you to make and present relevant and effective recommendations as to how the business reacts to key issues and future opportunities moving forward.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Analytical and process-driven
  • Knowledge and experience of standard and bespoke IT packages
  • Mathematical and statistical competency
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective communicator, confident to engage with stakeholders at all levels
  • High attention to accuracy and detail
  • A self-driven problem solver with a ‘can do attitude’
  • Commitment to the study and learning involved with an Apprenticeship

You must, as a minimum, hold 5 GCSEs in English and Maths (Grades A-C / 9-5); however, the ideal candidate will hold 2 A-Levels or a Level 3 Apprenticeship in STEM or business-related subject/s.

We’re really excited to offer this Apprenticeship; it’s a fantastic way to build confidence, learn new skills and obtain qualifications, whilst earning. This Apprenticeship is open to current colleagues or external applicants aged between 16-64 who are not already in education (and who do not already have similar experience / hold a relevant qualification in this area).

Package Description

Alongside offering a competitive salary and a Level 4 Apprenticeship, the Society offers enhanced employer pension contribution and holiday entitlement, as well as our colleague discount scheme (including 10% off in our Foodstores). These are just a few benefits of working for us and full details can be viewed on the ‘Colleague benefits’ section of our website.
