Customer Service Assistant

Vacancy Introduction

Be part of our Brand-New Team at Kesgrave

We are excited to be opening our brand-new Kesgrave Food Store later this year and are looking for enthusiastic people to join our opening team.

As we build our new store team, we have over 250 hours of Customer Service Assistant opportunities available across a range of contract sizes, creating flexibility for different lifestyles and working patterns.

This is a fantastic opportunity to start in a brand-new store from day one, helping us create a welcoming environment for customers and a positive team culture from the very beginning. If you enjoy working with people, being part of a busy team and making a difference in your local community, we’d love to hear from you.

As a Customer Service Assistant, no two days are the same. You’ll support customers across the store, help keep shelves full and standards high, and contribute to a friendly and efficient shopping experience.

What you’ll be doing

  • Providing excellent customer service and creating a warm welcome for every customer
  • Replenishing stock and maintaining high standards across the store
  • Operating tills and handling customer transactions confidently
  • Supporting our Food to Go and bakery areas, including preparing products for customers
  • Helping keep the store safe, clean and well presented
  • Working as part of a team to support a successful new store opening

What’s on offer

  • Flexible opportunities in our brand-new Kesgrave store
  • A range of contract sizes to suit different lifestyles
  • Full training and support, including during the store opening period
  • Opportunities to develop new skills across fresh food, bakery and customer service
  • The chance to be part of an exciting new store serving the local community

The people we are looking for

We are looking for people who:

  • Enjoy helping customers and working with others
  • Take pride in delivering great service and maintaining high standards
  • Are reliable, positive and ready to work as part of a team
  • Are comfortable with practical, hands-on tasks (like preparing fresh food) and being on their feet throughout the shift
  • Can work flexibly across Monday to Sunday, including evenings and weekends
  • Are excited by the opportunity to help launch a brand-new store

Because we are creating a brand-new team and shaping contracts around the operational needs of the store, availability is especially important. We encourage applicants with a broad availability across Monday to Sunday, including evenings and weekends, as this will help us match successful candidates to the most suitable contracts.

Our co-op will only recruit individuals who have passed the school leaver’s age.  To find out the school leaver age please visit the following link; https://www.gov.uk/know-when-you-can-leave-school

  • 22 days holiday (plus bank holiday entitlement) which increases with service
  • 5% employer pension contribution
  • Death in service benefit
