Vacancy Introduction

Are you an experienced Business or Systems Analyst who enjoys business change projects focusing on introducing new systems and exploiting technology?

Are you naturally inquisitive, do you enjoy understanding the spaghetti of data that flows between systems, can you present your understanding to a variety of stakeholders? Can you always find unanswered questions?

If you’re determined, positive, detail orientated, able to self-organise and highly adaptable then this might be the role for you.

Role Responsibility

As a Business and Systems Analyst your first significant opportunity will be leading the Finance System Replacement Project.  Your skills and experience will enable you to work with the stakeholders to elicit requirements, validate, refine, and question, ultimately implementing the solution within the business.  There will be interfaces to map, understand and replace as well as the migration of data from old to new.

Alongside this project there will be other work streams, as with many organisations the ability to work in parallel and self-manage time is imperative.  These projects can be diverse as we have a wide range of business divisions and functional areas with lots of exciting technology changes planned.

You will be part of a team responsible for ensuring system changes and new business systems meet business and user requirements at acceptable levels of quality. This role will ensure new business systems are fit for purpose, enabling the wider business to achieve benefits and capitalise on technology.  You will get involved with testing where the need arises.

This role would suit someone who has BSC Certifications in Business Analysis and Requirements Engineering or comparable qualifications together with a minimum of 3 years demonstrable experience of working in IT Business and Systems Analysis. Knowledge and experience of implementing a new financial system is desirable.

Responsibilities and essential skills

You will be responsible for the definition, documentation and maintenance of technical and user requirements relating to system and process implementation and must possess the following key skills and experience:

  • Ability to understand, consider and analyse complex and technical processes
  • Ability to understand data quickly.  Run comparisons through MS Excel, MS Access and/or simple SQL statements, including the transformation of data.
  • Ability to create clear, concise, and accurate documents in terms of requirements, process definition and test definition / results
  • Ability to present complex subjects in a simple manner so that key points can be understood by people with limited prior knowledge of the subject matter
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels
