Assistant Financial Accountant

Vacancy Introduction

We are looking for an accomplished and detail-oriented Assistant Financial Accountant to join Our Co-op's dynamic finance team. In this pivotal role, you will take charge of maintaining our fixed asset register and capital expenditure forecasts, while also providing crucial support in tax return preparation and contributing to the meticulous crafting of our year-end accounts.

Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the financial stability and success of Our Co-op, as you become an integral part of a skilled, engaged, and diverse team working collectively to achieve excellence in the East of England. Role Responsibility

  • Thoroughly account for fixed asset additions and disposals, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of our financial landscape.
  • Take the lead in maintaining capital expenditure forecasts, applying foresight to navigate the financial course towards optimal outcomes.
  • Execute period end reconciliations with precision, harmonising financial data to present a cohesive and accurate financial picture.
  • Assist with preparation of the VAT return, navigating the intricate web of regulations with utmost accuracy and compliance.
  • Contribute to the seamless preparation of the corporation tax return, ensuring adherence to all regulations while optimising tax efficiency.
  • Collaborate in preparing year-end accounts at both subsidiary and group levels, contributing to elevated financial reporting standards and transparency.
