Vacancy Introduction
Come and join our team!
At East of England Co-op, protecting what matters most is at the heart of our Co-op Secure Response (CSR) business. We're looking for an experienced, people-focused ARC Manager to join us at our Central Support Offices in Wherstead Park, Ipswich.
Our fully accredited Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) provides professional security monitoring 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, helping protect people, properties and businesses across a range of sectors, from retail and logistics to renewable energy and agriculture.
Combining advanced security technology with a personal, responsive service, we're proud to provide tailored solutions that give our customers confidence and peace of mind.
Behind that technology are the people who make it all happen.
We're looking for someone who can inspire those people, build a positive and accountable working environment and help take our operation forward. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference, not just to the services we provide, but to the colleagues who deliver them.

Our working patterns are non-contractual. Any advertised working pattern represents the normal working pattern for the role at time of advertisement and may be subject to change.
What you’ll be doing
As our ARC Manager, you'll take responsibility for the leadership, performance and development of colleagues working across our Alarm Receiving Centre and Remote Video Response Centre (RVRC).
You'll create an environment where people feel supported, motivated and confident in their responsibilities, providing clear direction, meaningful coaching and consistent management across our round-the-clock operation.
Alongside developing your colleagues, you'll oversee workforce planning, operational performance and service quality, ensuring our monitoring services continue to meet the high standards our customers expect.
You'll play an important role in maintaining industry accreditation, strengthening operational processes and identifying opportunities to improve how we work.
This is a genuine people management opportunity, with the focus on leading, developing and empowering colleagues, rather than routinely undertaking operational shifts. You'll work collaboratively with teams across Co-op Secure Response to maintain a reliable, efficient and forward-thinking security service.
The person we are looking for
We're looking for a confident and approachable leader who combines strong people management skills with an understanding of security operations.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- Proven experience managing, motivating and developing colleagues, including performance, attendance and wellbeing.
- Experience within an Alarm Receiving Centre, Remote Video Response Centre or comparable security monitoring environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to coach, challenge and support colleagues constructively.
- Experience of workforce planning, resource management and maintaining operational coverage.
- A sound understanding of security monitoring, incident management and escalation procedures.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards, operational compliance and quality assurance.
- The ability to interpret performance information, identify improvements and make informed decisions.
- Strong organisational skills, with a proactive and adaptable approach to managing a 24/7 operation.
- A valid SIA CCTV Licence would be desirable, but is not essential.
Above all, we're looking for someone who leads by example, takes pride in developing others and understands that exceptional customer service begins with a well-supported team.
If you're passionate about people, confident in your leadership and ready to make a difference in a specialist security environment, we'd love to hear from you.
